The second and third batches of 900,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sets procured by the Department of Health (DOH) from China arrived at the Villamor Airbase on the evenings of April 6 and April 7, 2020 respectively.
All PPE sets were transferred to Office of Civil Defense the next day from each arrival to facilitate the distribution. Each batch consists of 12,000 PPE sets which distributed to various hospitals.
The second batch was distributed to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, Manila Doctor’s Hospital, Marikina Valley Medical Center, Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Quezon City General Hospital, MCU Hospital, Quezon Institute, Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital, and Ninoy Aquino Stadium on April 7, 2020.
Meanwhile, the third batch was handed over to Tondo Medical Center, National Children’s Hospital, Rizal Medical Center, Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, Las Pinas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, San Lorenzo Ruiz Women’s Hospital, Ilocos Regional Training Medical Center, National Center for Mental Health, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, Batangas Medical Center, Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center on April 8 and 9, 2020.
On March 31, 2020, the first tranche of PPE sets arrived in the country. This was transferred the next day to OCD to lead the distribution.
On April 2, 2020, OCD together with the Philippine Coast Guard facilitated the distribution of the first batch to San Lazaro Hospital, Philippine General Hospital, East Avenue Medical Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium, and Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center.
