OCD 2 in partnership with the Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) conducted a Basic Incident Command System (ICS) Training Course on 19-21 May 2016.

It was attended by the personnel of Coast District North Eastern Luzon from the different station and sub-stations of the District. The training aims to orient the participants about Incident Command System and how it is used during emergencies and big events.

Capt. Julius Caesar Victor Marvin V Lim PCG, GDNELZN Commander, in his Opening remarks expressed his gratitude to OCD 2 Regional Director Norma C Talosig for OCD’s support to CGDNELZN.

“Basic ICS training is necessary in the performance of their duty. Through the training we will be able to continue fulfilling our objectives to train our personnel to become efficient and effective in their field of endeavor.” said Capt. Lim.

ENS Nastasja Gemma Contado, PCG, one of the participants who gave an impression about the training, expressed her gratitude for the once in a lifetime opportunity given to them. She also appreciated the instructors for sharing their knowledge, skills and time to help them become more competent public servants.

Director Talosig during her keynote speech stated that it will not be a once in a lifetime opportunity because there are now plans to have the second level of the training course for CGDNELZN personnel. She also highlighted that the OCD is always there to provide leadership, and through the help of others, like the PCG, all things can be done.
