The Office of Civil Defense held its Senior Leaders’ Conference (SLC) today, 17 May 2022, to discuss its accomplishments from 2016-2022 in Eastwood, Quezon City.

Attended by various OCD officials from Central and regional offices, the forum served as a venue for a comprehensive review of the assessment and evaluation of programs, projects, and activities of the agency towards the attainment of its overall goal as an agency. Also tackled in the conference were the results of the strategic plan assessment, the review of Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Councils’/Offices' programs and activities; the National DRRM Fund Utilization FY 2016-2021 and the cascading of the National DRRM Fund Guidebook.

Civil Defense Administrator, Undersecretary Ricardo B. Jalad, in his message, thanked the entire civil defense workforce for their contributions and hard work in the delivery of different services.

“Through the efforts of the entire civil defense leadership and staff, we have surmounted difficult times and strengthened OCD to become ever responsive to the demands of our people,” he said.

“I urge you all to continue exhibiting the ideals and values of our organization as OCD pushes onward towards the realization of the goal of a safer, adaptive, and resilient Philippines,” he added.

The OCD SLC is regularly conducted to gather officials and decision-makers to discuss and review the implementation of programs and policies as well as assess their impacts.
