NDRRMC member agencies visit gov’t administrative center in New Clark City

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) member agencies conducted site visits at the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) in New Clark City, Capas Tarlac on April 19 and 28, 2022, to identify potential office locations or satellite offices in the government building.
These satellite or field offices that will be established in NGAC will serve as back-up administrative hubs and utilized as a disaster recovery center to ensure continuity of government services and facilitate continuous collaboration and coordination of different agencies.
OCD holds GCCC inauguration and simulation exercise in Fort Magsaysay

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) inaugurated a newly built alternate Government Command and Control Center (GCCC) in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, Friday, 29 April 2022.
The establishment of the new facility is part of OCD’s effort to push for continuity of operations in case of an unlikely disaster that could compromise the functionality and safety of the NDRRM Operations Center.
OCD to hold inauguration of alternate gov’t command center in FortMag

The Office of Civil Defense will inaugurate the alternate Government Command and Control Center (GCCC) in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, tomorrow, April 29, 2022, a facility that will serve as a backup hub to ensure continuity of emergency operations in the event of disasters or any incidents that may compromise the functionality of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NDRRM) Operations Center in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
The facility in Fort Magsaysay is one of the three alternate GCCCs established by the national government pursuant to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s directive on December 5, 2017, ordering the construction of alternate GCCCs in areas identified by OCD.
NDRRMC meets anew to discuss temporary shelters for TS ‘Agaton’ victims in Leyte

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) met today, April 25, 2022, to discuss the proposed temporary shelter for the families affected by Tropical Storm (TS) “Agaton” and hold an after-action review of operations.
To address the immediate needs of the affected families in Abuyog and Baybay, the council discussed the proposal for the building of temporary shelters.
It was agreed in the meeting that OCD will be providing the construction materials and funding. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Mines and Geosciences Bureau, on the other hand, was tasked to conduct site assessment.
