OCD launches NDRRM Fund Guidebook: A Guide for Requesting Parties and Fund Administrators

Stakeholders involved in the use of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (NDRRMF) now have a ready reference for requesting and using it after the Office of Civil Defense launched the NDRRMF Guidebook (A Guide for Requesting Party and the Fund Administrators) in a simple ceremony held July 28, 2022, in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
This document contains the action guide for project prioritization, preparation, processing, and endorsement under the NDRRMF. It also facilitates the selection of projects that are most urgent based on project readiness and feasibility, and accurately identifies which ones are developmental in nature and can be funded by the regular budgets of agencies or the Local Government Units.
The Guidebook has three parts: (I) General information on the NDRRMF; (II) Process for NDRRMC endorsement; and (III) Monitoring and Evaluation.
Press Statement on 7.0 Magnitude Earthquake in Abra

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) is reminding the public to remain vigilant, take precautionary measures, and follow authorities’ safety warnings, following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Abra, Wednesday morning.
NDRRMC Chairperson and Department of National Defense (DND) Officer-in-Charge Senior Undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr. immediately convened an emergency meeting at the NDRRM Operations Center to coordinate efforts to assess and respond to the impact of the earthquake. Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez also joined the meeting with Usec Ricardo Jalad and other OCD officials.
The Regional DRRM Councils of Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, the Cordilleras, Central Luzon, the National Capital Region and CALABARZON are providing situation updates in the said meeting Initial information reported by the regions include damage to infrastructure and private structures, and several landslide incidents. Reports are now being consolidated by the NDRRM Operations Center for a summary report.

Muling nagbabala ang National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) sa publiko na mag-ingat at manatiling handa dahil sa tumataas na peligro ng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa dulot ng tuloy-tuloy na pag-ulan dala ng Habagat at iba pang mga umiiral na weather system. Kasalukuyang nagdadala ng malalakas na pag-ulan ang hanging Habagat sa kanlurang bahagi ng bansa ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). Binabantayan din nito ang isang Low Pressure Area (LPA) sa loob ng Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) na namataan sa layong 950 kilometro sa Silangan ng Davao kaninang alas tres ng umaga. Mataas ang tiyansa na maging bagyo ito at papangalanang “Ester”.
OCD welcomes DND Officer-in-Charge Faustino

Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad welcomed Department of National Defense (DND) Officer-in-Charge Senior Undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr. earlier today at the OCD New Admin Building in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. With OCD’s deputy administrators, service and regional directors, and division chiefs in attendance, Usec. Jalad provided a comprehensive briefing for OIC Faustino and his party on the mandate, programs and activities of the OCD including its functions as executive arm of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Usec. Jalad also presented OIC Faustino and the other new DND officials the accomplishments and thrusts of the OCD as well as an overview of the Philippine DRRM System. OIC Faustino was also introduced to his role as chairperson of the NDRRMC and the upcoming DRRM engagements which the DND OIC is expected to attend in 2022.
